Our founder Rene van Erk was frustrated about the lack of global insight into the Software Industry, which is necessary to select product development priorities and find M&A candidates. Rene decided to use Machine Learning to solve his problem.
A joint R&D project started at the LMU University of Munich and University of Utrecht, and after 12 months the decision was made to start the actual development of the product.
In March 2013, the first commercial beta of ISVWorld was launched covering 92k ISVs. Once launched, many corporate and blue-chip customers started signing up.
New Data Scientists joined the team and the improvement of the algorithms lead to the first major release covering 120k ISVs globally.
Increased coverage to 170k vendors, added focus on startup ISVs and keeping up to date with emerging technologies and markets, such as IoT and Mobile.
